Summer Music Camp

Students in the Summer Music Camp are making excellent progress in rhythm, singing music education and instruments. Our students received their instruments at the beginning of the summer camp. We have three new flute players, two new clarinet players, six new violin players, three new viola players and two new cello players. Our second year students are helping these new students and preparing more advanced music. The students will present a Concert on Friday, July 8 at 7 pm in the auditorium of the Roosevelt Middle School located at 222 E. Acacia Avenue in Glendale. Donations will be accepted at the door.

We are so grateful to our individual donors and the various foundations who provide support. Thanks to the Community Foundation of the Verdugos, we were able to purchase several new ½ and ¾ size string instruments for our inventory to be used by the students immediately. Donors from around the Los Angeles area and as far away as Texas have contributed instruments that have been fully refurbished for use by our students. If you currently have an instrument that you are no longer using that you would like to contribute, please contact us.

Summer is a critical time for our fundraising as we provide the Summer Music Camp and prepare for the coming school year. This is even more true this year, since our last benefit concert did not come close to meeting expectations. We welcome your donation of any amount. Donations of $50 or less can be made on our website at any time, www.mycyo.org. To make a larger donation please contact Dave@mycyo.org. This helps us avoid processing fees. Donations will also be accepted at the door for the concert on July 8.
