My, How TIME flies! It seems like only about a week ago, the school year was just starting and here we are past Halloween and counting the days to Thanksgiving… and then Christmas!
Although both September and October have “flown-by” they were filled with activity. One of the most welcome developments was receiving some much-need donations starting at the end of August and continuing into early September. We thank all of our donors with profoundly grateful hearts.
October 18th was this school year’s first Benefit Concert and it was very well received. Standing ovations are always a good measure of audience appreciation, especially when they last for many minutes and when individuals take the time to express their feelings in a direct statement that’s especially gratifying. One such statement was particularly heart-warming, so we’ll share it with you. “A most unusual and beautiful program complete with the composer on-site too!… and then to finish it off with Brahms was the best. Besides, it was played perfectly! My Goodness, I wasn’t ready for the end of the evening. The whole time was amazing!” And another person smilingly remarked, “The concert was terrific!”
Here is a picture from the concert (see more in the gallery below):
We’re planning to start a new class at Cerritos in January and need $1,000 to make it a reality, so again, we’re asking for your monetary participation.
Our next Benefit Concert will take place on January 24th and will feature the LaSierra University Orchestra from Riverside, so SAVE the DATE. While the Caesura Youth Orchestra students performed last spring at the Taste of Glendale and for the concert at the end of the Summer Music Camp, this will be a first for them to perform side by side with members of an orchestra. Don’t miss this concert!
